Instructions

  • Place a large frying pan on medium-high heat and add the butter.
  • Once the butter is melted, add your burgers to the pan. Decide now how you want your meat cooked as this will affect cooking times. For medium-rare, fry for 4-5 minutes on each side, medium, fry for 5-6 minutes on each side, and well-done, 8-9 minutes on each side.
  • Your halloumi slices and bacon will take approximately 5 minutes to cook, so add them into the pan when your burger has approximately 5 minutes of cooking time remaining.
  • Your egg will take approximately 3 minutes (if you like a runny yolk!) or 5 minutes (if you like the yolk firm) to cook. So be sure to add this to the pan when there's a few minutes left.
  • Stack up your burger, using the halloumi slices as the “buns”. Get creative with salad and condiment fillings to create a personalised taste sensation! See our suggestions below for some ideas.

Notes

  • Serve your burger with condiments and fillings of your choice. We’ve used a homemade guacamole made simply by mixing mashed avocado, lime juice, chilli flakes and fresh coriander. Team with some crunchy Iceberg lettuce for a different textural element, or try adding in gherkins for the ultimate burger experience.
  • The halloumi slices will be coated in the delicious fats from your bacon and beef burgers, adding a great punch of meaty flavour, but if you want to save your fingers, why not lightly dry off the cheese with a kitchen towel to remove any excess oils?
